Willa Bost is a seasoned actor, songstress, arts education advocate, and interdisciplinary arts instructor. She has earned a reputation as a masterful educator, working with elementary through post secondary, and with professional ensembles and community organizations. Willa customizes programs, workshops, and residencies for schools that align with state required standards. She also assists educators with integrating the arts into core subject areas. Her work encompasses creative, academic, and community organizing spheres and is rooted in social change and empowerment through the arts.
She studied vocal performance and theatre at Hampton University. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Theatre with a Music minor from Florida A&M University. She received her MFA Acting at University of North Carolina Greensboro.
A proud member of Actor’s Equity Association, Willa has been cast in several productions under the direction of the renowned Broadway director Kenny Leon. She has performed across the country on the theatrical circuit from Seattle to Florida and has graced the stage with co-stars Phylicia Rashad, Shirley Knight, Kerry Washington, to name a few. Most recently, Willa made her Broadway debut alongside Jay O.Sanders and Leslie Odom Jr. in Purlie Victorious.
After serving as project director and site coordinator for Webster County School System’s 21st CCLC After School Program. In 2004 she performed her debut concert, “I’m Coming Out”, which launched the beginning of her full time performing career.
She is the founder of Inner Arts Productions, specializing in performing arts education and programming. She is also an approved vendor with several school systems and is available to provide services nationwide. Willa currently serves as Positive Youth Troupe Theatre director at Mind Builders Creative Arts Center in Bronx, NY.
